Appalachian Community Module(s)

Learning & Development

CLIENT: Crawford-Marion

ASK: The Crawford‑Marion ADAMH Board engaged REdCon to design and deliver a comprehensive training initiative focused on strengthening cultural sensitivity and equitable responses among behavioral health professionals. The project included the development of asynchronous online training modules on Cultural Sensitivity in the Appalachian Community. The goal was to equip professionals with practical tools for culturally responsive engagement while expanding access to high‑quality, shareable training resources.

SERVICES PROVIDED:

Needs Assessment

REdCon collaborated with the ADAMH Board through internal and external project team meetings to clarify goals, audience needs, and content priorities. This included research and content development to ensure the training addressed cross‑cultural communication challenges and the unique cultural dynamics of Appalachian communities.

Curriculum Development

The Learning and Development team designed two asynchronous online modules on Cultural Sensitivity in the Appalachian Community. One as an introduction to the community itself, and the other at applying that knowledge in the case of emergency responders. Deliverables included two fully developed Rise courses with a custom printable certificate interaction.

RESULTS: The final deliverables included two completed asynchronous online modules on Appalachian cultural sensitivity. Both products were designed for ongoing use, enabling the ADAMH Board to extend culturally responsive training to future cohorts of professionals.
