Advocacy Learning Series
Learning & Development
CLIENT: Jane Doe Inc. (JDI)
ASK: Jane Doe Inc. received funding from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to develop an asynchronous advocacy training series for its statewide network of more than 60 member programs. The goal was to give new advocates a shared baseline of knowledge and skills, while leaving room for each program to add local policies and specialized content.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
Needs Assessment
REdCon partnered with JDI to define the goals, audience, and scope of the project. We ran stakeholder listening sessions and a short survey to pinpoint skills needing to be prioritized, learner gaps, and content constraints for trauma‑informed advocacy.
Instructional Design and Curriculum Development
Working closely with JDI’s curriculum writing teams, REdCon helped set the course structure, and informed script writers on how to write content for eLearning-ready scripts and activities. Using adult learning theory and an iterative design process, we designed and developed an accessibility‑compliant asynchronous eLearning curriculum.
In collaboration with stakeholders, we reviewed draft modules for accuracy, navigation, accessibility, and assessment flow. Modules included custom animated videos, survivor stories, printable resources, and quick-reference cheat sheets.
RESULTS: The final product included a 14-module course which was delivered in SCORM 1.2 format and integrated into the Coalition Manager System. The training launched statewide, with initial feedback noting smooth usability and reliable performance in the LMS.
